3 ORBITAL SOUNDSCAPES
3 Orbital Soundscapes is a site-specific composition for Baritone Saxophone, Bass Clarinet, Cello, Double Bass and Max MSP software. The acoustic instruments are amplified and sent to four speakers around the audience. Live panning of the audio signals is controlled by a graphic Max MSP patch consisting of four orbiting circles representing the direction of the sound through space.
This piece was performed by Lea Bertucci (bass clarinet), Michael Foster (baritone saxophone), James Ilgenfritz (double bass), Valerie Kuehne (cello) and Leila Bordreuil (electronics) at the Knockdown Center in 2013. Part of SOUND CORRIDORS. Unfortunately there is no decent recording of this piece. But you can take a look at excerpts of the handwritten score below. Made with ink, vinyl and charcoal on paper. |
